Named Accountable GP for all Patients

Named accountable GP for all patients

From 1st April 2015, the surgery is required under the terms of the GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP.  This named accountable GP has responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services, and ensure these are delivered to each of their patients where required, based on the GP's clinical judgement.

We have made every effort to make all patients of whom their named accountable GP is, if you are unsure please ask a receptionist.

Having a named GP does not prevent you from seeing any other doctor in the practice as you would normally do.  Your named GP will not be available as all times and if you need to be seen urgently, you may need to discuss your condition with an alternative doctor.  All our GP's have access to your medical record.

If any patient expresses a preference for a named GP, the surgery will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
